Arthur Mickey is my husband's grandfather. He went by the name of Lane. He left his home in Pennsylvania because of family troubles between his brother and himself. He came to California and met and married Edna Esther Etta Malone. He adopted her two young children, Dovie and Eugene. Later he and Edna became parents to Edna, William, Lane, and a baby girl who died at birth. He was a conductor for Santa Fe railroad. Edna died just a little over a year after the birth of their last child -- she was never well after the birth. Later, he remarried to a woman by the name of Hermina who was also widowed.
