He came to Madison County with his parents' about 1794 and was brought up in the town of Lenox, and married there. He was a farmer, and. a great politician in the Democratic party, being a member of the Assembly in 1849, and also serving as Side judge for two or three years. He came to the town of Sullivan, and lived on a farm which he bought in this town for thirty-five years, but spent his last days in the town of Vernon.
