Hugh F. Connor Jr., 84, of West Chester, died March 15, 2007, at home.
He was the husband of Elizabeth Diamond Connor.
Born in West Chester, he was the son of the late Hugh F. Connor and Esther Donohue Connor.
Hugh was a graduate of St. Agnes High School, West Chester, and a World War II Marine veteran, receiving two Purple Hearts at Saipan and Iwo Jima.
He was a 42-year letter carrier for the West Chester Post Office.
He was a life member of the Fourth Marine Division Association, the Disabled American Veterans, the American Legion Post of West Chester and a member of the West Chester Fish & Game Association.
In addition to his wife, Hugh is survived by his son, Hugh F. Connor III of Salt Lake City, Utah; daughters, Martha C. Martin of Bryn Mawr and Joan D. Connor of Berwyn; sons, William D. Connor of Coatesville and Patrick Connor of West Chester; and grandchildren, Katherine, Elizabeth, Seamus and William.
He was preceded in death by his daughters, the late Colleen Connor and Adrianne E. Connor.
Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral Mass, 10 a.m., Saturday, March 24, at St. Agnes Church, 233 W. Gay St., West Chester.
Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, West Chester.
Visitation will be Friday, 7 to 9 p.m., at DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, 410 N. Church St., West Chester, 610-696-1181, www.drsfh.com.
