John A. Chandler, Jr.
age 90, of Sunny Lane, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. He was born in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky on May 29, 1919 the son of the late John A. and Nora Highley Chandler, Sr. He was a retired gas distributor for Ashland Oil, a veteran of the US Army having served in WW II, and a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Naomi Chandler of Mt. Sterling; one daughter, Pam Reynolds of Mt. Sterling; two grandchildren, Brad (Emily) Reynolds of Mt. Sterling, and Christie (Vance) Evans of Lexington, KY; five great grandchildren, Chandler, Lainey and Liza Reynolds of Mt. Sterling and Alley and Case Evans of Lexington.

Funeral services were Friday, January 15, 2010 at the Taul Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lloyd Latimer officiating and burial following in the Machpelah Cemetery. Pallbearers were Brad Reynolds, Vance Evans, Jim Costigan, Gerald Dyer, Paul Jones, Jason McVey, Robbie Cartmill, and Don Cassidy. Honorary pallbearers were Wendell Hatton, Mort Wingate, Charles McLean, Jim Music. Military rites performed by American Legion Post # 22. In lieu of flowers donations suggested to the Emmanuel Baptist Church.
