Born the 10th child of Francis Leland Treadwell and Sarah Thompson Griggs whom are interred in the Treadwell Cemetery in Abanda,Chambers County,Alabama.Was a retired Police Officer.Married in Birmingham,Alabama on 19 Jan 1906 to Leola "Ola" Bobo,daughter of Miles B. Bobo and Serena Irene "Renee" Norton.Ola was married first to Alva Curtis Sorrell on 17 Jan 1900 in Edwardsville,Cleburne County,Alabama and gave birth to Albert Hugh and Henry Lee Sorrell.Alva's parent's were Dr. John Wesley Sorrell and Jerusha Elizabeth Treadwell Sorrell,whom the latter was the oldest sister to John Augustus Treadwell.Ola was born 3 Nov 1877 in Cleburne County,Alabama and died in Raleigh,Wake County,North Carolina on 27 Feb 1975 @ the resident city of their son John Edward Treadwell,born in Birmingham,Alabama on 10 Oct 1912 and died on 5 Mar 1994 in Raleigh,Wake County,North Carolina.She and her son are buried in Montlawn Cemetery in Raleigh,Wake County,North Carolina.

In the Treadwell Family Bible that was in the possesion of John's sister,Mary Jane Treadwell Milner.He was born John Augustus Treadwell on 20 Jul 1867 and died on 19 Apr 1932 in Birmingham.The bible is now in the possesion of her grandson,John Robert Milner,who lives on the old homeplace.The Death Certificate informant was his own son,John Edward Treadwell,WHO did not even know what his grandparent's name's were and where they were born!!
There is a marker put on the adjacent Lot #81(SEE Find A Grave Memorial# 76518594) in the cemetery that says John Albert Treadwell,1868,April 18,1932 and there is even the Obituary for a John Albert Treadwell in the Birmingham News,dated 20 Apr 1932 evidently supplied with the incorrect information to the Funeral Home Director.In either case the informant did not know his actual name! John Edward Treadwell's wife Othelia Ida Hearn did the family genealogy for their family,and she used the name John Albert Treadwell as John Edward Treadwell's father on his Death Certificate.Seems to me SOMEONE in that family ought to have known his actual name!She was not accurate on alot of things,BUT both of them are dead now,BUT the only thing that bother's me if there is someone buried under that marker...WHO IS IT??
