HIRAM P. HOUSEL, CIVIL WAR VETERAN, IS DEAD

Hiram P. Housel, who died at this home on Douglas street, Auburn, Thursday afternoon after an illness Of a week from influenza and pneumonia. had been a resident of Auburn and St. Johns in Dekalb county for fort y years.

Mr. Housel, a civil war veteran, was born August 7, 1845, in Trumbull County, Ohio, and was therefore eighty years of age. He married Delilah Catherine Slippy on December 15, 1869 and she survives.

There are five children living and two dead. Those who survive are: Mrs. J.H. Moody of Portland, Ore.; Mrs. J. P. Grimm of Garrett; Arthur of St. Johns and Walter and Jasper W. of Auburn. Nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive.

Mr. House! was a member of the Methodist church.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the home, the Rev. F. Hubbart, pastor of the Auburn Methodist church, officiating. Burial was made in Cedar Chapel cemetery.
