Funeral services for Eva Villegas Dezern, 85, of Lubbock, will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 14, 2010 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, with Father Teresito Paqueo officiating. Rosary will be this evening at 7 p.m. at Guajardo Funeral Chapels. Burial will be at City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Guajardo Funeral Chapels.

Eva passed away on Monday, Jan. 11, 2010. She was born on Sept. 13, 1924 in Alamo, Texas, to Jesus and Adelina Villegas.

Eva was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jose "Pepe" Villegas and Adan Villegas; and sister, Louis Thiel.

Those left to cherish her memories are her lifetime companion and caregiver, John Dezern; daughter, Martha Garibay Martinez and husband Hermilo Martinez, Jr.; granddaughter, Sheila Renee Martinez; grandson, Orlando Martinez and wife Cerissa Martinez; and great-granddaughter, Allison McCall Martinez, all of Amarillo; two sisters, Piedad Villegas of Lubbock and Janie Castillo of Weslaco; and two brothers, Robert Villegas and wife Virginia of Coleman and Charlie Villegas of Plainview.
