Betty A Ryan Nice Shockey, 76,formerly of 221-211 Fairington Court, died at 10 pm Wednesday July 19, 2000 in Regency Place. Born Jan 18, 1924, in Lafayette, she was a life resident of the area and attended Jefferson High School. She was a homemaker and for 16 years worked at Bud's Meat Specialists. Her marriage was to William Shockey in 1968. He died Dec 28, 1995. Mrs Shockey was a member of the Eagles Lodge Auxiliary where she was a past president and was affiliated with the Quarter Century Club, React and the Mothers's Club. Surviving are two sons, Donald A nice [wife Tammi] of Dayton and Gerald L Nice [wife Caryl] of Frankfort; and a sister, Avanelle Hubertz, [husband Bernard] of Lafayette.
FUNERAL NOTICE: SHOCKEY, Betty A -Visitation 5-7 pm Sunday at SollerBaker Funeral Home, 400 Twyckenham Blvd, with Eagles Auxiliary rites at 6:30 pm Service there 10 am, J William Overbay officiating. Interment Rest Haven Memorial Park. Surviving are 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren. Preceded by a son, Edward L "Eddy" Nice. Memorials to Charity of choice.
