She married Joseph (joe) McNutt October 2, 1889 in Chappell Hill, Washington County, Tx. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe. Mattie and Joe had seven wonderful children, and are laid to rest side by side at Concord Cemetery in Beautiful Bellville, Texas.

She died at St. Francis Hospital in Brenham. She was there for 30 days.
