Mr. Umar Khadafy Abdul-Rahman, age 27, of Utica, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 3, 2010 at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Born in Brooklyn, NY on March 31, 1982, Umar Khadafy is the son of Hassan Abdul-Rahman and Salimah Abdul-Rahman. Raised and educated in Utica, he was a graduate of T. R. Proctor High School, and he was looking forward to resuming his studies this semester at M.V.C.C. He shared a loving relationship with his fiancée, Quantesa Watson. Umar Khadafy was currently employed by the Burlington Coat Factory. Among his accomplishments, he was a musician and lyricist. He enjoyed performing and composing, especially the genre of rhythmic rap music, and he was a member of the group Black Fence Entertainment. Umar Khadafy is survived by his parents, Hassan Abdul-Rahman and Salimah Abdul-Rahman; his daughters, Zy'Asia Abdul-Rahman, and Aliyah Abdul-Rahman; and his sons, Tyquan Stewart, and Ramaaj Khadan. Survivors also include his sister, Maliki Balquish "Bella" Abdul-Rahman, U.S. Army, stationed in Iraq; his brother, Abdul Jabar Abdul-Rahman of Utica; his aunts and uncles, including Paulette Appling; his many special friends; and his music partners, Vaughn, Amos, and Mandee. Visitation and Home Going Services will be held Saturday at the Greater Grace of Utica, 1110 Ney Ave., Utica. Friends may call from 11-00-12:00 noon with formal services beginning at 12:00 noon with Pastor Kevin L. Lewis officiating. For those wishing to do so, memorial contributions may be made to the family enabling them to set up a trust fund for his children; envelopes will be available at the service. Interment will take place in Forest Hill Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Eannace Funeral Home, 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave.
