Both the Gayden and Kilbourne families were descended from patriots of the Revolutionary War, having been in what became the United States for generations. Their relatives and descendants even by the late 1800's had spread across the entire continent.
Unfortunately the original memorial for William James Kilbourne was removed, for reasons unknown. We believe he is buried in Monroe, LA. Laura Gayden Kilbourne is buried in Greenville, MS.
Mary Louise ("Louise") and Morris married 14 Nov 1893 in Hollywood, Carroll Parish, LA. They were the parents of 6 children, but the first 3 died in early childhood, the 2 girls of scarlet fever exactly a week apart and their only son when just 6 months old of unknown cause.
