Melvin M McCracken, 61 of Rollo Mo., died at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, June 5, 1977, in the Phelps County Memorial Hospital in Rollo, following a lingering illness.
He was born on April 10 1916 in Greenville, a son of the late Robert and Elleze Jett McCracken. On March 7, 1943, in St. Louis, he was married to Lucille Ziegler, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, James McCracken of Rollo, a brother, Dale McCracken of Edwardsville, and three sisters, Mrs Lucille Dotray and Mrs.
Roy (Lena) Weidner, both of Edwardsville, and Mrs. Leonard(Adele) Morgan of Wooddale. Three brothers preceded Mr. McCracken in death.
Mr. McCracken was a rural letter carrier and retired in March, 1973.
Visitation will be in the Lesley Marks funeral home after 4 p.m. Tuesday.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral Home with the Rev. Roger A. Zellars, pastor of the First Christian Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Moriah Cemetery in Greenville.
