Utica - A 15 year old Utica girl, Shirley Jackson, 1135 Nielson St., died late yesterday afternoon, in St. Elizabeth Hospital as a result of stab wounds to her chest that she suffered in an argument with a 13 year old female classmate. She was rushed to the hospital but died during surgery.
Shirley, the principal of Roscoe Conkling School said, lived with an aunt, Mrs. Alice Mae Mann, her legal guardian and had come to Utica from the South last October. Rome Daily Sentinel, Wednesday Evening, January 22, 1969
