Shirley Ann Garvine McFalls, 73, of Honey Brook, died on Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009, at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

Wife of the late Austin A. McFalls, she was born in West Chester, the daughter of the late John L. and Ethel J. Harner Garvine.

A graduate of Downingtown High School in 1954, Shirley then earned her cosmetology license at Goldey Beacom College.

In December 2004, she retired from the Bureau of Land Records County of Chester, where she was supervisor of the Personal Property Tax Office for 11 years.

She was a member of Windsor Baptist Church in Eagle and more recently attended Kingsway Independent Church in Sadsburyville.

Shirley enjoyed traveling and included as many family members and friends as she could to share her lasting memories with. She also had the gift of making lifelong friendships in every aspect of her life.

Her kindness, support, love and guidance will be missed by all. She was a very special lady.

Surviving are three daughters, Nancy Gibson of Reading, Connie Morgan of Coatesville and Alene McDermott of Honey Brook; a son, Austin A. McFalls Jr. of Honey Brook; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Maurice John Garvine of Eagle, Clyde Raymond Garvine of Eagle and Richard Carroll Garvine of Glenmoore.

A son, John Austin Ginn, and a daughter, Linda Haas, preceded her in death.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at noon Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010, at the Maclean-Chamberlain Funeral Home Inc., Route 340, Wagontown, preceded by a memorial visitation from 10 a.m. to noon.

Interment will be in Windsor Baptist Cemetery in Eagle.

In Shirley's memory, her family requests that contributions be sent to the American Cancer Society, 1615 West Chester Pike, West Chester, PA 19382.
