Frances worked for the Department of Lands and Forests and the Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) as office clerk-stenographer in Rondeau Provincial Park from 1957 (becoming a member of the permanent staff in January 1961) until her retirement in 1979.

She served under six different Rondeau superintendents.

She was very attentive to the details of park administration and records and collected photos and other source materials of her beloved Rondeau.

After retirement, she worked briefly as a part-time stenographer in MNR's Chatham District Office and the Tilbury Conservation Officer Detachment.
