PLAN SERVICES FOR LITZ IN BUFFALO, N.Y.
BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - Funeral services will be held Sunday in suburban Williamsville for Artha B Deacon Litz, 69, a noted auto racer for quater century who drove in 14 Indianapolis 500-miles races.
Litz died Tuesday in Halifax Hospital, Daytona Beach, Fla., after suffering a heart attack. He had been vacationing with his wife, Evah.
Litz was a star when the Dusenburg and Miller racing cars dominated American tracks. His best finish at Indianapolis was fourth in 1934. He retired in 1941.
He was inducted into the Auto Racing Hall of Fame in 1964, he leaves a daughter, a sister and three grandchildren.
