He married Mary Margaret Spitler on June 16, 1935

Robert M. Johns, 89, Ft. Myers, Fla., formerly of Carrollton Township in Carroll County, died at 11:20 a.m., Friday, Oct. 7, 2005, at Lee Memorial Health Systems, Fort Myers, Fla.

He was born at Howard County on Aug. 2, 1916, to William Franklin and Sylvia (Younkin) Johns. He married Mary Margaret Spitler at Wheeling Presbyterian Church on June 16, 1935. She survives.

Other survivors include daughters, Bonita (Jim) Oliver, West Lafayette and Karen (Paul) Ehrman, Batesville; one granddaughter, four grandsons, two step grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren.

One brother is deceased.

The funeral was held Wednesday at Neptune Funeral Home, Burlington. Burial was Burlington Cemetery, Burlington.
