James Robert Beeler, son of Jesse Albert and Lura Weatherman Beeler, was born January 20, 1937, in Cabool, Missouri. He departed this life Sunday, December 20, 2009, in St. John's Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-two years, and eleven days.
On June 12, 1958, he was united in marriage to Nancy Lawrence, and to this union two daughters and one son were born.
He was preceded in death by his father; and a son, Jesse Aaron Beeler.
James is survived by his loving wife of fifty-one years, Nancy, of the home; two daughters, Kathy Beeler Estep, and her husband, Ron, of Camdenton, Missouri, and Diana Beeler-Fisher, and her husband, Shannon, of Montana; a son, James Robert Beeler, II, and his wife, Darla, of Lebanon, Missouri; five grandchildren, James Robert Beeler, III, Jessica Lynn Beeler, Clinton Gann, and his wife, Melissa, Amy Gann, and her fiancé, Joe Cook, and Samantha Embry; two great-grandchildren, Seth Ford Gann, and Camdyn Gann; his mother, Lura Fletcher, of Willow Springs, Missouri; a brother, Jesse Duane Beeler, of Jackson, Mississippi; four sisters, Janet Ayers, of Stockton, Missouri, Mary Ann Cox, of Springfield, Missouri, Earlene Batesel, of Willow Springs, Missouri, and Patsy Ann Rader, of Mountain View, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; several cousins; many grand dogs, great-grand dogs, and his dog, Belle; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in the Cabool community, and then entered the military in 1954, at the age of seventeen. He served his country proudly in the United States Army for twenty years with two tours of duty in Korea, two tours in Vietnam, one tour in Germany, and one tour in France. Jim was also the Army recruiter in Lebanon, Missouri, from 1971 until 1974. Jim drove a semi truck and was a mechanic for twenty-five years following his time in the service.
Jim made his profession of faith in Christ as a young man at First Baptist Church in Cabool, Missouri.
He was an avid Ford man, and particularly loved Mustangs and old Ford trucks. His children, grandbabies, and great-grandbabies were his pride and joy. He also loved animals of all kinds.
Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and will remember him fondly as a devoted family man, a dedicated military soldier, and a good friend. He will be greatly missed by all.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday December 23, 2009 at the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Lebanon. Burial will be in Mt. Rose Memorial Park. Visitation is Tuesday evening 7-8:30 p.m. under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Lebanon, Missouri
