David J. Smith, son of Samuel and Sarah Smith, was born Feb. 5, 1852. he died Sept. 30, 1912, aged 60 years, seven months and 25 days. He was married about 23 years ago to Mrs. Eva (Babcock) Gilson, who died Oct. 4, 1910. To them were born three children, Mrs. Charles (Ethel) Webb, Agnes and Earl, all living. The deceased also leaves one brother, Sauel, of Colorado.
He passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Charles (Ethel) Webb, where funeral services, conducted by Elder M. T. Cooper were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment in the Howard Cemetery.
