She grew up on a farm in Finland. She came to Worcester, Massachusetts where she married John Lukko. When he went to the gold fields in the Klondike she returned to Finland with their one child (Elsie). When her husband came back from the Klondike she returned to Worcester. Later they bought a farm nearby on Fisher Street in Westborough. She raised a large family there and remained on the farm until her death.
