Born on the Stone family farm, Lincoln Township, Smith County, Kansas. He was the last of our line to be born on a farm. He then lived at St. Paul, MN and Ames, Iowa. Attended schools in Gainesville, Florida. Eagle Scout. BSChE 1944 University of Florida. Midshipmans School 1944 Columbia University. Taught navigation 1944-1945 Midshipmans School Columbia. He served aboard destroyers up to Commanding Officer. He was at Tokyo Bay for the Japanese surrender. MS & PhD Chemical Engineering University of Delaware. Served at various atomic energy facilities for DuPont including Oak Ridge, TN; Wilmington, DE; Hanford, WA & Aiken, SC. He was a Gideon and very active as a devout & dedicated Christian. I am his brother.
