Daughter of Homer Virgil Paris & Ida Boswell (Married October 21, 1888 in Paulding Co., GA).
Married P. Owen Parker, December 23, 1907 in Paulding Co., GA.
Taken from the Dallas New Era, written by her grandmother, Mrs. J. M. Parris.
QUOTE:
Mrs. Homer Esta Parker, nee Parris, was born August 13th, 1889, and fell asleep June 15th, 1908. She was just nine days old when her father, Homer V. Parris, died. She being his only child.
Her mother lived to see her a pretty little five-year-old girl and she two (sic) passed into the great beyond. Her grandfather and mother (sic), Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Parris, took her into their home where she was well cared for.
She was married to Owen Parker December 23, 1907, but their happy home soon to be broken, for death laid his ley hand upon her and kissed her eye lids down to that sleep that knows no waking. She evinced sweetness, faith and courage in the midst of all her sufferings.
Her life like a map was open before all who knew her. It needs no eulogy from me, for in every heart there seems to be the pithy sentence, "She hath done what she could." As a child she was obedient and dutiful, as a class-mate she was loving and kind, as a wife she was faithful and true, as a neighbor she was honest and helping.
While she has breathed her last on earth yet she lives in the hearts and memories of those who loved her.
She sleeps in her narrow windowless home in Poplar Springs cemetery. Then farewell sayeth those that love thee, Homer Esta, until by the touch of the resurrection morn thou shalt come forth from the grave, clad in the beautiful garments of salvation.
Asleep in Jesus blessed sleep,
From which none ever wake to weep;
A calm and undisturbed repose,
Broken by the last of foes.
