Wilnetta Kreisle, Jan. 9, 1926-Dec. 8, 2009, Wilnetta "Billie" Jean Kreisle, 83, of Lafayette and formerly of Rochester, passed away at 12:33 a.m. Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Regional Health Center, Lafayette.
She was born Jan. 9, 1926, in New Castle, the daughter of Edgar and Glenden (Shore) Adamson. On June 14, 1947, in Rochester, she married John E. Kreisle. He preceded her in death Nov. 4, 2003. Mrs. Kreisle had retired as a sales clerk. She attended Purdue University, where she was a cheerleader from 1946-1948, and was a member of Tri Kappa sorority. She attended Central Presbyterian Church, Lafayette, was an avid bridge player and an extreme supporter of Purdue University athletics, especially following the basketball and football teams. She also enjoyed looking out on the sunset and walking the beaches of Lake Michigan.
Survivors include her son, John Mark Kreisle, Appleton, Wis.; her daughters, Regina Ann Kreisle and life partner Dale Langusch, Lafayette, and Jennifer Karen Kreisle, Lafayette; and her grandchildren, Alisha and husband Bryan Moen, Hortonville, Wis., Stephanie Kreisle and fiance Mike Wells, Appleton, Wis., Eric M. Kreisle, Appleton, Wis., Michael J. Kreisle, Appleton, Wis., Brittinay Kreisle-Cosby, Lafayette, and Amy Kreisle-Cosby, Lafayette.
A memorial service will take place at 6 p.m. Friday at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at IOOF Cemetery, Rochester. Memorial contributions may be made to Almost Home Humane Society, Lafayette, or Purdue University's John Purdue Club for the cheerleader program.
