Mr. Addis was the creator of several nationally syndicated comic strips. Bent Offerings was an award-winning creation of his. His other comic strips included: Briny Deep (1980), The Great John L. (1982-1984), and Babyman (1985).Playboy magazine readers were treated by him too. His cartoons were also political at times. His Alta Mater was the University of Florida where he was the editor of the student newspaper, The Independent Florida Alligator. Mr. Addis continued his black ink drawings for forty years while employed by the Evening Independent and then the St. Petersburg Times.
Don died of lung cancer. Don Addis is survived by three daughters, a son, a brother and four grandchildren.
