Last days he attended one of the last games played at Tiger Stadium home of the Detroit Tigers.
He Loved the Redwings and attended the 1998 Celebration Parade in Detroit with a broken leg. But wearing the Wings Shirt and Wings Cast.
He was a grandfather figure for Joan's 13 Grandchildren

COOKEVILLE -- Funeral services for Solon Donnell Maxwell, 60, of Michigan, will be held at 2 p.m. on Tues., Oct. 5, from the chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Joe Bob Allison Cemetery.
The family will receive friends after 2 p.m. today, Mon., Oct. 4, at the funeral home.
Mr. Maxwell died on Thurs., Sept. 30, 1999, at Providence Hospital in Novi, Mich.
He was born on Sept. 3, 1939, in Putnam County to Lola Massa Maxwell of Cookeville and the late Verdie Maxwell. Mr. Maxwell was retired from Detroit Diesel.
In addition to his mother, his family also includes a son, Donald Bruce Maxwell, a sister, Elizabeth Owens of Cookeville; four brothers, Wilbur and Kenneth Maxwell, both of Baxter, and Douglas and Phillip Maxwell, both of Cookeville; and a special friend, Joan Cushard.
In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Frank Maxwell.
Bro. Burdette Randolph will officiate at the services.
