Martha Atwood Batey, 61, of Middleton, formerly of Paragould, Arkansas., retired production employee for General Motors, died of liver failure Saturday at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Middleton Church of Christ. Shackelford Funeral Home in Bolivar has charge. Mrs. Batey, the wife of James C. Batey, also leaves a daughter, Terrie Diane Addington of Flushing, Mich.; two sons, Kenneth Lee Batey of Davison, Mich., and James Richard Batey of Flushing; four brothers, Rev. Bob Atwood of Owasso, Okla., Rev. Raymond Atwood of Paragould, Billy Joe Atwood of Nashville and Moses Warren Atwood of Memphis, and six grandchildren.
