Horton Bennett Abbott, 78, of Rossville, Ga, died on Monday, November 23, 2009.

He was born on Lookout Mountain, Ga., to the late Horton and Mary Alice (George) Abbott, and was preceded in death by his brothers, Fred, Marcel, William, sister, Ola Gilbert, and wife, Betty Abbott.

Survivors include his son, David (Regina) Abbott of Ringgold, brother, Ralph Abbott of Rossvile, sisters, Mary Lee Adkins of Rossville, Myrtle Abbott of Flintstone, grandchildren, Mikkel, Kellie, Kala, special niece, Nancy Adkins, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, November 27, 2009 in the chapel with Rev. Roy Cope officiating. Interment will follow in Little River Cemetery in Mentone, Al.

His family will receive friends after 3 p.m. on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 and prior to the service on Friday.

Arrangements are by W.L. Wilson & Sons funeral Home, Fort Oglethorpe, Ga.
