Services for Clyde Orbin Wolaver, 95, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, 2005, at First Baptist Church with Dr. Alton Fannin officiating. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Born on March 29, 1910, in Italy, Texas, to Clyde James and Lillian Weathers Wolaver, he died on Nov. 6, 2005, in Ardmore. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Horace Wolaver.
He graduated from Italy High School in 1927 and worked for Sears and Roebuck in Dallas, and also for the Higginbotham Bailey and Ralph Suddeth Company. A resident of Ardmore since 1942, Clyde worked as a real estate broker for Helms & Yarbrough for 35 years. He was a member of Kiwanis Club, and a member of First Baptist Church for more than 60 years, attending the Dorcus Sunday school class. He loved gardening.
He and Lovella Bea Rowland were married on Dec. 25, 1938, in Marietta. She preceded him in death on May 1, 2005.
Survivors include a son, John Wolaver and wife, Lenore, Vero Beach, Fla.; three grandchildren, Mark Wolaver, Ft. Pierce, Fla., Christi Wade, Vero Beach, and Karla Sheridan, Cocoa, Fla.; five grandchildren; and a cousin, Harold Scott, South Carolina.
Bearers will be Wayne Merritt, Gene Johnson, John Wolaver, Mike Minyard, Haskel Jack and Brett Coble. Don Mangham is honorary bearer.
