Born Sep. 23, 1948, at Burlington, she was the daughter of Charles and Betty (Gabeline) Hutchcroft.
Miss Hutchcroft taught in the Burlington School District for 32 years and most recently as a third grade teacher at Perkins Elementary School.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church at Mediapolis and graduated from Mediapolis High School in 1967. She obtained her bachelor's degree in education from Iowa Wesleyan College at Mt. Pleasant and later received her mastser's degree from Western Illinois University in Macomb, IL. She was a member of the Burlington Education Association, ISEA and NEA, along with Chapter AB T.T.T. of Mediapolis. She loved her cat, her home, flowers, children and her family.
Survivors include her parents, Charles and Betty Hutchcroft of Mediapolis; one sister, Lynn (Bill) Carlson of Burlington; two brothers, Tom Hutchcroft of Keokuk and Tim (Deb) Hutchcroft of Mediapolis; three nieces; one nephew; and seven great-neices and nephews.
Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Monday at Hagele and Honts Funeral Home in Mediapolis, whre the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
The funeral for Miss Hutchcroft will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church in Mediapolis, with the Rev. John Gaulke officiating. Burial will be in Kossuth Cemetery.
A memorial has been established to the First United Methodist Church in Mediapolis and the American Cancer Society. (picture)
