Howell Billingslea Royer, Baptist Road, Taneytown died Saturday at
Carroll County General Hospital. He was the husband of Katherine
(Kitty) Nusbaum Royer and the son of the late Jessie and Minnie Groft Royer.

Born in Westminster, he was employed by the United States Postal
Service for 43 years and was the recipient of an award from the National
Safety Council for 32 years of accident-free driving.

Active in civic affairs, he was a member and past president of the
Taneytown Kiwanis Club, a life member of the Taneytown Rod and Gun
Club, a life member of the Taneytown V.F.D., a life member of the Taneytown
Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Piney Creek Church of the Brethren
and a former member of the Westminster Church of the Brethren.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters: Mrs. Betty Lou
Hollenbaugh, Reisterstown; and Mrs. Janet Ruth Hosteller, Palmyra, Va. He
is also survived by eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a
brother; Lewis E. Royer, Westminster.

Interment, will be at the Meadow Branch Cemetery in Westminster.
