WORLD WAR I
Leslie A. Bryan was a Lt in the US Army and the Air Corps during WW I. During WW II he served as the second Group Commander of Group 3, NY Wing, Civil Air Patrol, located in Syracuse, NY. This group is now known as Central NY Group.
He was the Director of the Institute of Aviation, University of Illinois. In 1953 he was a Brewer Award winner (granted by the National Aeronautic Association). He was inducted into the Illinois Aviation Hall of Fame in 1985. He authored many books and papers, some of which are held in the University of Illinois archives.
