He attended both grade school and high school at Salt Lick, graduating in May 1946. He began a career with the Kentucky Department of Highways right after graduation and worked on a survey crew, either as a crew member or the party chief. He held the position of Design Engineer when he retired on June 1, 1981 after 35 years of service. Most of his career was out of the District 6 office in Covington, KY.
He was a member of the Salt Lick Christian Church where his funeral services were held Thursday, September 19, 2002, at 1:00pm with the Rev. Calvin Lindell officiating.
