GLASGOW — Mary Porter Spillman Hardcastle, 88, of Glendora, Calif., died Sept. 20, 2003 at her home. The Barren County native was a member of the Southern Baptist Church in South Pasadena, Calif. She was the daughter of the late Dow Tilden Spillman and Mary Frances Mercer Spillman and wife of the late Thomas Alvin Hardcastle. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Jack Spillman, Bryant Spillman and Lewis Spillman; and two sisters, Edith Britt and Wilma Young. Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home, with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Survivors include a son, Robert Dow Hardcastle, a daughter-in-law, Jeri Lee Hardcastle both of Glendora, California; a stepson, Richard Hardcastle of Bowling Green; a sister-in-law, Beatrice Spillman of Glasgow; five grandchildren, a step-grandchild and several nieces and nephews in southcentral Kentucky.
