Mary J. Yocum, 81, of West Terre Haute, passed away at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009, in Union Hospital in Terre Haute.
She was born on June 3, 1928, in West Terre Haute, the daughter of Perry Hollowell and Gertrude Hughes Hollowell.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Clinton United Pentecostal Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Walter C. Yocum, on Sept. 14, 2009.
She is survived by her children, Mike (Betty) Yocum, Walter G. (Diane) Yocum, Tim (Kim) Yocum, all of Clinton, Richard (Candi) Yocum of Indianapolis; Mary (Jim) Curtis of Hillsdale, Paul (Stephanie) Yocum of Blanford and Jeanie (Fred) Marshall of West Terre Haute; grandchildren, Mikki Jo Yocum, Derrick Yocum, Heather Yocum, Ashley Heller, Jamie Avenatti, Jeanie Wishmeir, Kylee Yocum, Peyton Yocum, Brooklynn Yocum, Shaunessy Yocum, Cheyenna Marshall, Vanessa Marshall and Honey Jo Marshall; great-grandchildren, Austin, Amber Lauren, Colton, Zane, Sarah, Eli and Lily; brother, Perry Hollowell of Clinton; sister, Della McMasters of Georgetown, Ill.; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Willadean and Bill Dowell of Shepardsville.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, at Frist Funeral Home, 458 Blackman St., in Clinton, with the Revs. Tim Yocum and Carl Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery in Tecumseh. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
