Rosalie Mae Mackes, 54, of RR 1 Saylorsburg, died Wednesday in the Slate Belt Nursing and Rehab Center, Bangor.
Born in Saylorsburg, she was a daughter of Annabel (Van Buskirk) Mackes of Saylorsburg and the late Lloyd Mackes.
She had been a licensed practical nurse for Preferred Payment Systems in East Stroudsburg for 4 years. Prior to that, she had been a visiting nurse in Monroe County for 2 years and had worked for Dr. Totani in Wing Gap for 7 years. She was a graduate of the Northampton Community College School of Nursing.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by two sons, David Adams of Neola and George Adams of Brodheadsville; two daughters, Brenda Smith and Linette Martino, both of Saylorsburg; three brothers, Joseph, Donald, and Lloyd (Rick) Mackes, all of Saylorsburg; four sisters, Ruthann Biechy and Sandra Fisher, both of Belfast, Donna Frantz of Saylorsburg, and Nancy Christman of Brodheadsville; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Arthur Mackes.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday from the Kresge Funeral Home, Route 209, Brodheadsville, with the Rev. Robert Hampton officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Eaton Cemetery, Saylorsburg. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either Lehigh Valley Hospice, 1273 N. Ninth Street, Stroudsburg, PA 18360 or to the American Cancer Society, RR 2, Box 2138, Stroudsburg, PA 18360.
