Freemont O. Hinkle Sr., of Gardners, departed this life November 15, 2009.

Born October 15, 1935, he was a son of the late Oscar and Lilly (Starner) Hinkle.

Mr. Hinkle was employed by Knouse Foods Inc. in Gardners for 55 years before his retirement.

He was a member of Williams Grove Steam Engine Association and the Latimore Valley Tractor Association.

Mr. Hinkle is survived by his wife, Karen L. (Hassinger) Hinkle, to whom he was married for 10 years; three step-daughters, Victoria L. Rauch of Chambersburg, Lisa S. Kriebel of Biglerville, Rebecca A. Clouse of Shippensburg; two sons, Freemont O. Hinkle Jr. of Texas and Floyd Hinkle; step-son, Robert L. Mitchell of Gardners; one sister, Jane Decker of Gettysburg; three step-grandchildren and one step-great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Naomi Chronister, Susan Roth, Bernice Wenschof; and five brothers, Aubrey, Robert, Lawrence, Mark, and Lester Hinkle.

Interment was in Mount Tabor Cemetery, Gardners.
