Mr. Hershel H. Blakeney, 82, died November 7, 2009 at Riley Hospital in Meridian.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 9, 2009, at 3 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Macon, MS. Interment will be in Oddfellows Cemetery. Visitation will be held in the church fellowship hall from 2-3 p.m. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 162, Macon, Ms 39341. Cockrell Funeral Home of Macon is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Blakeney is survived by his wife, Mrs. Frances May Blakeney of Macon, MS; two daughters, Lynn and husband Karl Stepp of Jacksonville, Fla. and Mary Frances Blakeney Brumfield and husband Frank Swayze of Chicago, Illinois.; three grandchildren, Swayze, Blake and Lucy Brumfield; two sisters, Mrs. Natalie Jordan of Raymond, MS and Mrs. Ann Myrick of Austin, TX.
