George Edwin Corey was born March 9, 1853 in Hope Falls, NY and died December 28, 1931 in Gloversville, Fulton Co, NY; he married 1st about 1885 Delilah Williams who was born about 1855 and died September 13, 1891; daughter of Emerson and Nancy (Rider) Williams; he married 2nd October 15, 1894 Sarah Jane McDowell born August 13, 1855 in Ireland and died May 29, 1953 in Gloversville, Fulton Co, NY; daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Tufe) McDowell. George met Sarah Jane through Reverend Griffin who knew he was a widower with a six year old son; they married in West Troy, NY.

George was the father of four children, two sons and two daughters. One daughter whose name is unknown died at a young age. The remaining children were his sons Walter and Clarence and his daughter Alice. He was born the son of Abram T. and Susan C. (Bates) Corey. George worked as a blacksmith and was a farmer while living in Kansas. He was the beloved grandfather of his son Clarence's children.
