"The wife of Mr. Anderson, the blacksmith on Washington Island, died last Sunday [Oct. 21] while in confinement. She gave birth to twins but did not long survive."
Door County Advocate; Saturday, 1888-10-27; General County Items; Pg 2, Col 4

I believe the following article is about Mrs. Martin Andersen, not about Mrs. Martin Knudson.
"Through some oversight THE ADVOCATE has failed to give anything more than the mere announcement of the death of Mrs. Martin Knudson, of Washington Island, which occurred some little time ago. Mrs. Knudson was suffering from dropsy while enceinte, and shortly before confinement occurred the doctor had relieved her of several pounds of water by the tapping process. Two children were born, but the third could not be delivered, the pain and loss of vitality being so great that the unfortunate woman expired. The twins are alive and doing well. The event is one of the saddest that has ever occurred on the island."
Door County Advocate, Saturday, 1888-11-17, General County Items; Pg 2, Col 3
~~~~~
The names of the two surviving babies "twins" are: Karl Marinus and Anton Christimus (Geminus)
~~~~~
Middle name may be Kirstine. (See son Karl's death information)
