The Rev. Clarence Lundberg officiated at the Bethel Community church and burial was in the island cemetery. Special music, “Near to the Heart of God” and “Abide With Me,” was sung by a woman’s trio.
Pallbearers were Paul Lucke, Fred Koyen, Roger Gunnerson, Lester Nelson, Hannes Thorarinsen, and Bjorn Gunnlaugsson.
Mrs. Andersen who had been confined to bed for more than four years, had made her home in Chili since July, 1945, with her daughter, Mrs. Edwin (Gladys) Seefeldt. She suffered from arthritis.
Born Feb. 13, 1871, in Veile, Denmark, Mrs. Andersen came to this country as a child with her parents, George and Anna Lucke. The family settles in Chicago where they lived until November, 1878, when they came to the Island.
Mrs. Anderson lived here until 1945 when she went to Chili to live. Her husband died about 1943.
Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Seefeldt, Chili; a son, Milton, Milwaukee; two brothers, Louis, Portland, Ore., and Frank, Painsville, Oh., and two sisters, Mrs. Annie Jones, Chicago, and Mrs. Laura Nelson, Milwaukee.
Those from out of town at the final rites were, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Seefeldt and Mrs. Ralph Struck, and Milton Andersen and Mrs. Laura Nelson, Milwaukee.
