- Ill for two years from a heart ailment, Berend Andersen, 74, died suddenly last Saturday while drying the breakfast dishes. He and his wife, the former Dora Lucke, had planned to celebrate their golden wedding December 10.

The funeral was held Tuesday at the Lutheran church, the Rev. Edwin Svendson officiating, and burial was at the Island cemetery. Pallbearers were David and Paul Lucke, Wilfred and Fred Koyen, Maynard Gunnlaugsson and Roger Gunnerson.
Coming from outside for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Milton Andersen and Mrs. Laura Nelson of Milwaukee and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Seefeldt and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Struck of Chili, Wis.

Mr. Andersen, born in Denmark July 31, 1870, came to this country and Chicago in 1880 and to Washington Is. two years later. He fished and sailed until he retired several years ago.

Surviving besides the wife are a son, Milton, Milwaukee; a daughter, Mrs. Edwin (Gladys) Seefeldt, Chili, Wis., and one granddaughter, Mrs. Ralph Struck, also of Chili.
