RIENZI - Funeral services for Mary "Helen" (Parvin) Odle, 90. will be held at 10:00 a.m. today at Antioch #2 Baptist Church with Bro. Pete Wooley officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Odle died Wednesday, August 16, 2000 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville, Prentiss County, Mississippi.
Mrs. Odle was born January 16, 1910 in Alcorn County, Mississippi to William Rather Parvin and Mary Francis (White) Parvin and was a life-long resident of Alcorn County, MS.
She was a member of Antioch #2 Baptist Church where she served in various positions, including Sunday School Teacher.
Mrs. Odle was the oldest living graduate of Biggersville School.
She made beautiful quilts and crocheted bedspreads.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband James Odle; a daughter, Mona Joyce (Odle) Vickers-Smith and her sister Hortence Robinson.
Survivors include a daughter, Sue Nell (Odle) Searcy, (Norman); two sons, James W. "Bud" Odle, (Mary); and Silas R. Odle all of Rienzi, Alcorn Co., MS; three sisters, Ara Wilson and Maxine Ross both of Memphis, TN and, Quay Jackson of Olive Branch, MS; three brothers, Ray Parvin, Homer Parvin and Arvin Parvin all of Alcorn County, MS; nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers are Anthony Baggett, Paul Burns, Bill Richardson, Tim Searcy, Aaron Vickers and Mike Beck.
Visitation continues today from 9:00 a.m. until service time.
