Springfield -- The funeral will be held Dec. 31 for Flora Mae Swinney of Springfield, who died Dec. 27 of age related causes. She was 101.
Swinney was born Aug. 4, 1897 in Costella, Kan., to Milford and Amanda Hinman.
She married Joe Swinney in Fredonia, Kan., on July 20, 1916. He died June 7, 1976.
In 1937, Swinney moved to the area from Havre, Mont. She was a homemaker.
Her interests included arts and crafts, crocheting and making doll lamps. She also raised sheep.
Swinney had lived in Crow and belonged to the Crow Grange. She also was a member of the Lorane Rebekah Lodge.
Survivors include two sons; two daughters; seven grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. A son, Joseph, died in 1995 and a grandson, Dan, died in 1994.
Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. today at Chapel of Memories Funeral Home in Eugene. Thursday's service is at noon at the funeral home. Burial will be at Lane Memorial Gardens in Eugene.
