SWINNEY -- Joseph (Joe) Edward Swinney of Briggs Hill Road, Eugene passed away June 7, 1976, at the age of 82. He was born September 29, 1893 in Buffalo, Kanasas and was married July 20, 1916 in Fredonia, Kansas to Flora Mae Hinman. He had lived in this area since 1937. He was a member of the Crow Grange No. 450. He was an Odd Fellow for 51 years and was a member of Odd Fellows Lodge No. 122 in Lorane. He is survived by his wife, Flora; 3 sons; 2 daughters; 3 sisters, Ann Orr of Chanute, Kansas, Mattie Penniwell of Gilford, Montana, Ruth Morton of Niangua, Missouri; 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 10 1976 at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Memories Funeral Home, 3745 West 11th with Pastor Willett Jessee of Noti Church of Christ officiating. Interment in Lane Memorial Gardens. Visitation tonight till 9 p.m., Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Contributions may be made to the Crow Valley Volunteer Fire & Rescue Unit through the chapel.
