Gladys Blanchette, 74, of Port Arthur died on Friday, June 6, 2003 at her residence after an illness. She was a native and lifelong resident of Port Arthur and was a member of Little Flower of Jesus Catholic Church in Port Acres.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Blanchette of Port Arthur; sons, Kenneth Blanchette and wife Lucy of Warren, Charles Blachette, Jr. and wife Nelwin of Nashville, TN., Rickey Blanchette and wife Karlaof Huntsville; daughters, Judy Smith and husband Tommy of Port Neches, Susan Dupuy and husband Noah of Port Arthur, Lynette Waldron and husband Terry of Singapore; brothers, Ray Loupe of Knoxville, TN., Richard Loupe and Monroe Loupe of Port Arthur; sister, Bernice Hampton of Port Arthur; 23 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Funeral servies will be held on Monday, June 9, 2003 at 10:00 A.M. at Pat A. Riley Funeral Home with Rev. Philip Payyappilli officiating . Interment will follow at Memory Gardens in Nederland. The family will receive friends from noon to 9:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home for a time of visitation and remebrance. A rosary service will be recited at 7:00 P.M. Sunday in the funeral home chapel. Pallbearers for Mrs. Blanchette will be Byron Briggs, Ricky Ray Smith, Bobby Sullivan, Herman Sullivan, Jr., Kevin Odom and Frank Allums.
