Roger was born January 17, 1940, in Olney, Illinois, to Otis Roger Sr. and Mildred Lawless Francis. He was a graduate of East Richland High School in Illinois and served his country in the United States Army. Roger retired from the EFP Corporation as a supervisor.
Roger is survived by his wife, Dolores Herman Francis; children Raymond (Shelagh) Francis of El Cerrito, California, Joseph Francis of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Gregory (Colleen) Francis of West Lafayette, Indiana, Ann Francis (Michael) Jensen of Nashville, Indiana, Robert (Elizabeth) Francis of Flower Mound, Texas, David (Rebecca) Francis of Brunswick, Maine, Gail Francis of Ojibwa, Wisconsin, and Jason Francis of Bloomington. He also leaves behind 5 grandchildren; a sister, Sue Francis of Elkhart; and a brother, Harvey Francis, of Moore, Oklahoma.
Visitation will be Friday, October 16, 2009, at St. Agnes Church in Nashville from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the church on Saturday, October 17, 2009, at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Little Union Cemetery. Fr. Eric Johnson will preside.
Roger's family is grateful to the many people that helped them through Roger's illness, especially Bloomington Hospital Hospice.
Memorial contributions may be made to DNR, Boy Scouts of America or St. Agnes Church.
