The Kingston Daily Freeman-December 23, 1949
Thomas H. Lawyer, Jr., of 164 Fair Street, a special duty policeman with the Kingston Police Department for several years, died suddenly this morning. Lawyer had worked the 4 o'clock to mid-night shift Thursday.
He had served in the United States Marine Corps from 1908 to 1916 and during World War I served with the Army from 1917 to 1918. He reenlisted in the Marine Corps in 1919 and served until 1937 when he was retired as a staff sergeant. He also was a guard during World War II at Electrol Incorporated, this city.
Lawyer is survived by his wife, Julia Kearney Lawyer; two daughters, Mildred and Ellen Ann, both of Kingston; his father, Thomas Henry Lawyer; two brothers, Charles Lawyer and Edgar Chubb; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Ballard and Mrs. Helen Strom; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements will be announced.

Funeral services will be held from the W. N. Conner Funeral Home, 296 Fair Street, Tuesday, December 27, 1949, at 2 p.m. Interment in Wiltwyck Cemetery.
