Johnny E. "Bubba" Harris, 62, of Normangee, passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2009, at St. Joseph Regional Health Care Center in Bryan.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 15, at First United Pentecostal Church in Normangee.

Funeral services are set for 11 a.m. Friday, October 16, at the church. Burial will follow in the Wealthy Cemetery outside of Normangee. Officiating will be Brother Sam Manning, Brother Doug Utermark, and Brother Kip Riley.

Johnny was a resident of Normangee all of his life. He was born February 1, 1947 to John A. and Syble Denman Harris in Madisonville, Texas. He went to Normangee schools until he started to drive trucks for a living.

He married Paulette Manning and they had four wonderful children together. Bubba was a family man who loved spending time with his family and 13 grandchildren. He enjoyed his trucks, both as a job and his hobby.

Bubba was a faithful member of First United Pentecostal Church and always enjoyed lending a helping hand any time they need it.

He will be deeply missed.

Johnny was preceded in death by his father, John Harris; two sisters, Phyliss Ann Harris, and Bonnie Hayes; and one granddaughter, Kylee Harris.

Survivors include his wife, Paulette Harris; mother, Syble Batson and her husband, Leo, of Normangee; two sons, Reggie Harris and wife, Leslie, of Flynn, and Rodney Harris and wife, Christina, all of Normangee; two daughters, Natalie Aguirre, of Normangee, and Maggie Smith and husband, Bryan, of Normangee; two sisters, Linda Nickerson and husband, Ronnie, of Normangee, and Janie Nixon and husband, Michael, of Houston; and 13 grandchildren.
