William J. H. Fox Dies of Apoplexy
William J. H. Fox, 43, who pioneered the "jitney" bus in Santa Barbara, died Friday night of apoplexy at his home at 721 West Sola Street.
Time for the funeral services will be announced later, pending the arrival of relatives. Martin J. Haider is in charge.
Mr. Fox was born and reared in Missouri. Comming to this city 24 years ago he inaugurated a bus service that accommodated the upper west side of the city. His only equiptment in the early days of the service was a conventional touring car.
In later years Mr. Fox became a Tamale Manufacture.
He leaves his widow, Mrs Emma Fox, a son, Carl E Fox of this city and a niece, Mrs Ethel Barnes of Glendale.
