Ardmore, OK — .Funeral Services for Mrs. Myrna Lou Turner, 72, of Ardmore is scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday October 12, 2009, at the Mary Niblack Road Baptist Church east of Ardmore with Pastor Phil Tallman officiating. Interment will follow at Griffin Hillcrest Cemetery in Ardmore. Services are under the direction of Alexander Funeral Home in Wilson.

Myrna was born to the late Mr. Milton Haskell and Mrs. Eva Lynn (Taylor) Parks, July 10, 1937, at Borger, Texas. She went to be with the Lord Wednesday October 7, 2009, after a lengthy battle with Scleroderma, a crippling disease that stole her body, but couldn't put a dent in her sweet spirit.

Myrna became a child bride at the age of 13 marrying Mr. Melvin J. Turner, April 28, 1951, at Borger, Texas. After a year of marriage and learning the responsibilities of married life, she became a mother at the tender age of 14, giving life to her first daughter, Betty. Myrna put her heart and soul into making their young marriage and meager lifestyle into a warm and loving home. She became a mother a second time at the age of 18, giving Betty a new little sister, Donna. Myrna became a devoted child of God at the age of 40. She was blessed with the spiritual gifts of service, mercy, and generosity. She used those gifts without reserve, blessing all who knew and loved her, never giving a second thought to her own needs. She and Melvin J. Turner, her love of this life, were married 56 years before his passing in 2007. She cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with a powerful love that was the essence of her petitions to the Lord. Her faith and her family was her whole world, and her absence from this world will truly have an impact on all who knew her.

Myrna is survived by daughters, Betty Turner and Donna Eads and her husband Larry, all of Ardmore. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Susan Green and husband James, Michael Edwards and wife Jayme, Jeremiah Edwards, Jason Eads and wife Elizabeth, and Matthew Eads and wife Amanda. She had six great-grandchildren, Lora Green, Taylor Edwards, Patience Edwards, and Kyler, Karson, and Ethan Eads, and one step-great grandchild, Rylan Kulp. Those also dear to her heart are her surviving brother, Milton Thomas Parks of Las Vegas, Nevada, two very special sisters-in-law, Margaret Morgan and Lorilla Coop, and numerous other relatives.

Pallbearers are Michael Edwards, Jason Eads, Matthew Eads, Jeremiah Edwards, Taylor Edwards and Corbin Cross.

Honorary bearers will be the Ladies' Sunday School Class of Mary Niblack Road Baptist Church in Ardmore.

Memorial donations may be sent to the Mary Niblack Baptist Church Bereavement Fund, 898 Mary Niblack Rd. Ardmore, OK 73401.

Family visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. today at Griffin Hillcrest Funeral Home in Ardmore.
